This 1931 Couesnon Monopole cornet features quick-change valves allowing it to play in the keys of C, B, Bb, and A.
Couesnon was a prominent French instrument firm that succeeded Gautrot. In 1911, Couesnon was the largest instrument manufacturer in the world with 1,000 employees across eight factories.
Monopole was the mark given to their highest quality instruments, and this instrument is still in excellent condition. The instrument functions best with a French-style mouthpiece (slightly smaller shank than modern cornet mouthpieces).
