This is a French-market Balanced Action Alto which was sold to a store in Paris in January 1945. This is roughly five months after the allied liberation of Paris in August 1944. The instrument was originally silver plated. You read that right. Less than six months after the liberation of Paris, this alto saxophone was made, plated and set up to have a new life! This horn plays beautifully, featuring the flexibility, character and sound that only a vintage Selmer can bring. You would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful example of a vintage Selmer saxophone. Don't miss history.
