Selmer is known around the world. Without question, Selmer has created some of the most iconic saxophones the world has ever seen. The Super-Balanced Action, the precursor to the Mark VI, has been beloved and played ever since the first casting.
Boasting a wonderfully flexible sound, with the characteristic "Selmer-ness" about it, this SBA lets the player choose what sound they dream of and produce it with ease. Silky-smooth action and a well balanced tone, this SBA can be as smooth as Desmond or a big and bold as Dick Oatts. This Alto is from 1951 so you can hear subtle characteristics that lean towards the early Mark VI sound, but with a rounder, slightly larger sound. If you want that vintage Selmer sound, feel and playability, this is the horn for you.
