There a few people in the history of music that can endorse instrument and make a generation want to play it. Benny Goodman did just that with the Selmer Series 9 "Centered Tone" (CT) Bb Clarinet. Many of Mr. Goodman's notable recordings in the 1950's were performed on his CT and those records speak for the instrument in the flexibility and warmth that could be achieved.
Previous to Benny Goodman's endorsement, the CT was considered the jazz clarinet of the day. The Centered Tone is a wooden clarinet that features a large bore ideal for pushing over the big band and wailing high up in the range like Benny. Most importantly, this clarinet is in wonderful physical shape and does not have any discernible cracks to the body. Fully overhauled, this instrument is ready to be a feature in front of the band to help everyone swing.
