Repair Shop

Whether your instrument needs a major overhaul or a simple checkup, Virtuosity's dedicated team of in-house professionals repair and help maintain hundreds of woodwind and brass instruments a year. We strive to provide a wide range of high quality services while meeting our clients needs and wishes.

How it Works

  1. Stop by our shop in-person with your instrument to discuss your needs, or see below for details to arrange to send your instrument in.
  2. Once it arrives, Virtuosity's technicians will evaluate your instrument and provide an estimate via e-mail. Simply reply to the e-mail to approve the requested work.
  3. Work will be carried out in accordance with the quote/estimate and you will be contacted when your instrument is ready for pickup or return shipment.

Payment is due on completion in order to pick up the instrument or have it shipped back.

Sending In? Here's What We Need:

In order to assist you, please send an e-mail to [email protected] with the following details:

  • Make/Model of Instrument, age if known (e.g. "Elkhart Conn 88H")
  • List of Symptoms (e.g. "Slide feels stiff in close positions", "3rd valve sticks down sometimes", etc.)
  • Photos of the Problem (if relevant)
  • Requested Turnaround Time ("2 weeks", "By Thursday the 19th")

If we can fit your repair in, we will provide you with shipping instructions. You are responsible for shipping the instrument in; we will bill you for return shipping on completion. All shipped instruments will be insured for replacement value and will require a signature for delivery.

Please note: Virtuosity reserves the right to decline service. For example, if the work cannot be accommodated due to time or other limitations, or if the brand or model is not one we can get replacement parts for.

FAQ

What instruments do you service?

Virtuosity services most woodwinds and brass instruments. Please note: Virtuosity reserves the right to decline service. For example, if the work cannot be accommodated due to time or other limitations, or if the brand or model is not one we can get replacement parts for.

We can, on occasion, service things other than instruments which require soldering, sheet brass dent removal, lathe work/one-off machining. Please contact us for availability.

Do you warranty your service?

We stand behind the services we provide. If you have any issues with the repair, please contact us or stop by the store to discuss your needs.

Do I need to wait for an estimate?

For basic professional cleanings of brass instruments, we have set prices. For all other repairs, an estimate/quote is necessary (and recommended) to proceed. If we discover further issues after the initial quote, we will contact you to approve any work beyond the initial scope.
