Availability: In stock

Altin’s new book, Connecting The Dots: The Warmup Guide For The 21st Century Trombonist is a source for trombone players to be exposed to warm up techniques specialized for trombonists that perform in all genres. The book includes long tones, flexibility exercises , scales, and multiple tonguing along with audio examples of Altin performing the exercises. The book has a forward written by Michael Dease and has been tested throughout the years on many students who have found success!

“Connecting The Dots is so much fun to work through. I hear all of the influences you reference in the first section throughout the warm up! The scales and slurs are GENIUS - the whole book is beyond awesome, but I feel so grateful to have the scale and slur exercises in my toolbox in particular.

It just makes sense to write scales out in a way that floats on the slide! I literally felt my sound getting more fluid with each scale. The slurs - WOW - I can't believe I've been in Boston for 3 years and never heard (or remembered!) Mike Roylance's ideas on getting into trills easier. The dotted eighth slurs are MAGIC and the control they add to the whole exercise is incredible!”
