Look at the distinguished new Mark VI Saxophone from any angle; study the details of its construction; consider its many exclusive features. Here is an instrument that embodies every technical advantage important to you for faster execution, greater playing ease and comfort, and lower maintenance cost. Yet despite these many important advantages, the really big news about the Mark VI is the way it plays.

Both tenor and alto incorporate tuning refinements and changes in bore design that are the product of a full decade of intensive research. Bore proportions are redesigned for greater flexibility of tone. This means two things for your playing: easier response at low volume levels; more reserve power for your fortissimos.

Improved neck proportions and refinements in the upper bore have strengthened the partials that add color and warmth to your tone. Tone holes are relocated and resized to produce a scale more balanced and smoother than ever. To understand fully what these advances mean to your playing, you must try a Mark VI. When you do, you'll notice many other refinements in design, plus an extra care and skill in construction apparent in every detail. Relocated key groupings, adjustable right thumb rest and giant left thumb rest combine to make the Mark VI more comfortable and relaxing to play. Action throughout is faster, especially on octave jumps and extreme low tones.

Naturally, the initial cost of an instrument with so many outstanding qualities is a little more than most saxophones. But here are the points to remember: The lifetime construction of a Selmer keeps maintenance costs at an absolute minimum; and no matter how long you choose to keep it, the reputation enjoyed by Selmer gives your instrument a higher trade-in value.

For these two reasons, the Selmer actually costs you less per year to play than any other saxophone. And with a new Mark VI, you'll be confident that you are playing the one saxophone in the world that will do the most for your talent and technique. The Mark VI is unquestionably Selmer's greatest Alto Saxophone. Tone projection has been substantially improved by the new bore and neck proportions. The tone is bright, yet strong in fundamental color, with a warmly live quality. Intonation is truly extraordinary. Try this remarkable new instrument-prove to yourself that with a Selmer Mark VI Alto you you can achieve the rich, vibrant, clean tone you have always wanted.
